Join Our Board of Directors
We are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a board member you will play a vital role in guiding and supporting our organization as we grow and continue to create meaningful impact.
By joining our board, you will become part of a community-driven organization rooted in the belief that sustainable, equitable and just food systems based on the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions principles are achievable on the Canadian Prairies. We invite you to bring your voice, expertise and commitment to help us transform food systems on the Prairies.
Director Responsibilities:
Act with the view to the purpose of the organization.
Provide governance and leadership to ensure our mission, visions and values are upheld.
Contribute your professional expertise, lived experience or nurture personal connections and build networks to amplify our impact.
Develop strong ties with the communities PFSVN operates in, and willingness to work with diverse groups of people.
Create and strengthen Prairie Food System Vision Network’s practices and policy.
Supporting strategic planning, organizational growth and stability of operations.
Act honestly and in good faith, avoiding real, potential or perceived conflict of interest.
Ensure that the organi/micrograntszation has the financial resources necessary to carry out its mission.
Provide financial oversight while exercising care and due diligence.
Attend and actively participate in board and committee meetings as needed.
About PFSVN
The Prairie Food System Vision Network identifies, encourages, and supports a range of solutions that contribute to health, sustainability, justice, reconciliation, and food sovereignty in the Prairie biome. Through many small steps we will make steady progress toward achieving just and resilient food systems based on regenerative and agroecological approaches by 2050. We do this by facilitating Solutions Hubs and our Food Systems Microgrants Program.
